This label was inspired by a picture taken of my wife Colene on our wedding day. The wine was made from beautiful 35 year old vines planted in decomposed sandstone and clay in the South African Voor-Paardeberg. There is a great balance with a big length to this wine. There is a huge sense of age worthiness, it has a acidity that cuts through a lot of that primary sweet fruit on the nose, pulling through to the palate. It is showing a fruit-forward aroma of peaches, ripe stone fruit, tropical pineapple, and quince. It also has aspects of marmalade and sweet cinnamon spice that you would get with a bit of skin contact. The palate is velvety soft and the acidity balance is perfect - absolutely lovely, melt-in-your-mouth sweetness and soft fruit. River stone, earthy, flinty richness with a mesmerizing austerity.
